ABOUT ME
A fellow teacher once said to Erica; “Your teaching style is like ‘salted caramel’- you are authentic, kind and comforting all in one, with little morsels of gritty surprises that make me smile and feel extra cared for.”
I am a long-time veteran of music and theatrical stage performance, which lends to my entertaining and playful approach when teaching yoga to kids of all ages, and adults too! I've been told that I have a charismatic personality and warm voice evoke peacefulness, trust, and playfulness with my students. Because of this, I have the opportunity to teach yoga at various corporate yoga and school locations, ski resorts, spas, studios, and centers across the Salt Lake City valley, and most recently to my thriving Zoom yoga following since the COVID-19 pandemic gifted me with the opportunity to get creative and get a'Zoom-ing!'
My hunger for learning, coupled with my focused intention to continually grow my skills and knowledge that ensures everyone who steps into or signs into my classes feel seen, cared for and most of all SAFE has molded my very mindful yoga approach when it comes to trauma-sensitive yoga, kids yoga, and yoga for people of all ages with visible and invisible disabilities.
My love for educating children about mindfulness, self-confidence, health, and exercise was sparked after I was cast as a performer in the high-energy children’s school assembly tour, sponsored by Intermountain Healthcare, which highlighted their ‘8 Healthy Habits’ campaign. The show weaved song, dance, skits, and audience participation to create a comprehensive and fun educational experience for children to learn how to live a healthy life and make mindful choices. It was my former 'dream-job' that lead me to teach yoga to children and adults, my dream-job!
Now I get to do it all!
I earned my 500-hour Yoga Teacher Certification from Mindful & Embodied in Salt Lake City, Utah in 2014. I continue my education and training by attending workshops, trainings, and by studying with my cherished mentors and teachers to deepen my personal practice and teaching.
I look forward to meeting you and sharing yoga with you soon.
